Deep Tissue Massage
Focused and therapeutic, deep tissue massage works through the deeper layers of muscle and surrounding connective tissue. Techniques are applied slowly and with sustained pressure to address areas of persistent tension and restricted movement.
This approach often involves working with the fascia, the connective tissue network that surrounds and supports muscles throughout the body. When fascia becomes restricted, it can contribute to stiffness, discomfort, and limited mobility. Deep tissue techniques aim to improve tissue glide, reduce muscular guarding, and restore more natural movement patterns.
This treatment is ideal for clients seeking a more targeted therapeutic massage to address deeper patterns of tension.
While pressure is often firmer, the emphasis is not intensity for its own sake. Techniques are applied with control and purpose to improve mobility, reduce discomfort and support tissue recovery.
Treatment may incorporate slow deep strokes, targeted friction work and sustained compression to address areas of restriction without unnecessary discomfort.
